There is nothing you all can do about it, you can not take down a government unless you have an equally powerful force.

However you can complain to your legislators (if you live in a republic). Usually if there is enough outcry over an issue legislators will be hesitant to vote for it since they might not be reelected if they do.

>>114 Also this will apply to America AND the EU, along with a few other nations. Heck, America and the EU are the ones that came up with it. Or at least the producers and record labels in those countries.
>In October 2007, the USA, the European Commission, Switzerland, and Japan first announced that they would negotiate ACTA.

fuck this nonsense about not rebeling it says in the constitution that we have a right to over throw the government if need be
>> No. 178

I doubt that they were thinking of people deciding to overthrow the government because "OH NO WHEN I STEAL OTHERS' LEGAL PROPERTY AND VIOLATE COPYRIGHT LAWS I MIGHT FACE PUNISHMENT".
>> No. 182
>>177

I'm not sure where you live, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not true. Why would a government allow people to just over throw it all the time?
>> No. 187
>>182
Well it says in the Declaration of Independence that if a government doesn't represent its citizens the citizens can overthrow it. It is important to remember, however, that the Declaration of Independence isn't a legal document. The Constitution takes a different approach to coups and says that if you commit treason by levying war against the government, Congress can choose how to punish you.

Of course, if your rebellion is successful, that shouldn't be a problem. Good luck with that.

"... to alter or abolish" the government is different then overthrowing a government.

Abolishing a government is to change the government completely, getting rid of the old and brining in the new. You can abolish a government democratically, which is what Jefferson implied when he would speak of revolutions. Jefferson never meant, "Go out in the street and kill your leaders."

Overthrowing a government means taking control of the government by force. That's not going to happen, and no one wants it to.

Intellectual property should be abolished. Saying that someone has ownership to a certain arrangement of musical notes is nonsense. Noone can own music.
>> No. 208
>>207
That's true. But the problem is musicians need to get paid somehow (in b4 touring/live shows), not to mention professional-quality studios are expensive. The death of copyright would bring with it a reduction in high quality recording.
>> No. 210
you cant inb4 touring and live show, getting those out is like if a merchant would only sell on the Internet and never do ad for themselves, they need to open a shop and post paper of a great sale everywhere, just like a musician should do
>> No. 211
>>210
The problem is that touring isn't the solution to every intellectual property creator's income. What about inventors, software publishers, and movie publishers? How can they "tour," so to speak? Do you really think people will come out in droves to watch a live production of a movie instead of just downloading it legally for free?
>> No. 212
>>211
well, now your making it a society problems.we should have respect for people who can do something we can't

and did you know that if intellectual property wasn't most of medical firm would be working with each other.I'm sure every firm got a bit of a puzzle that could be completed easily with coop. but noooooooo,WE are going to make the money, not them!
idk if you see my point?
>> No. 322
